The Gospel According to Mark is an action packed account of Jesus’ earthly life. As we study this book we do it primarily to see Jesus as our substitute who came to do what we were commanded to do (and yet failed) and then paid our debt (which we can never pay) so we could have a life we don't deserve. There is no other story where the Hero dies for villains, and yet, in the Gospel that's exactly what we see. King Jesus dying for rebels so they can become sons and daughters.
