The Vision For Gospel Communities
We want to cultivate families that are on mission with Jesus. To do this we invite people to be a part of a gospel community. We desire to see a gospel community within five minutes of every person in western Whatcom County. That is our vision for GCs. The more gospel communities in our county, the more people in our county will encounter the glorious grace of God through the gospel.
Multiplication
Multiplication is a central aspect of our gospel communities because it is primarily through the multiplication of GCs that we are able to strategically reach the cultural pockets, neighborhoods, and areas in our city that need a gospel presence. Therefore, the multiplication of GCs is, first and foremost, a means for increased mission.
Multiplication happens primarily because of mission but also, in a more secondary and related sense, multiplication happens because of size. When a gospel community hits a certain size through seeing new people connected and new people meeting Jesus, gospel communities prepare to multiply out and a start a new GC as one GC preps to become two GCs. When gospel communities multiply it’s like a wedding; it’s a huge celebration for the birth of new family on mission for Jesus and there’s also a bit of sadness at seeing people go.
